What's up, guysé Jeff Cavaliere, ATHLEANX.COM. Would you get pissed if I called you a cheateréNow, don't take offense because we all are to some degree. See, if you're working out and you're liftingweights, you're cheating. And it's not because you're consciously trying to do it, guys. I made a point a couple weeks ago in a tutorialwe did on ab training and specifically how our hip flexors take over for our abs where I said one comment, that our bodiesare masters of compensation, and I think it
might have blown by that too quickly. See, the fact of the matter is our bodiesare so damn smart. And in order to get them to respond to ourtraining, we have to force them to not be so efficient with what we're doing in theweight room. We have to make our workouts inefficient froma standpoint of, we can't let our bodies tell us the movement patterns they want to movein because guess whaté They'll cheat. They'll cheat around your strengthdeficits. They'll make every single move we do easier.
So what I wanted to do was just showcase afew of them to show you just how our bodies take over and make exercises that should be done oneway make us do them completely different and at the same time they rob us of the resultsthat we should be seeing while doing them. So, right away, if you're going to do yourshoulder training, you can pretty much guarantee that unless you're consciously examining howyou're doing each rep, you're probably cheating on those reps, andI can tell you you're probably costing yourself some shoulder size in the process.
First of all, I call it the Traps Trap. Whenwe're doing a Side Lateral Raise, what likely happens hereé What we know, and you can alwaysanalyze this part of the exercise, you're just trying to work that dumbbell fromsomewhere down at your side to out at your side because you know that's how the exerciseis executed. But we don't know how we get there and whatmuscles are helping us do it. And a lot of times, anything that's in the area of themuscle you're trying to work will try to contribute. In this case, the traps take over to a largedegree. The Traps Trap is that while I'm trying to get this dumbbell up, I let my traps shrugand help pull up.
You can see that just by shrugging, I'm ableto elevate this arm higher, but it's not really focusing on the side delt that I'm tryingto really have do the exercise. So, we don't want that to happen. That cheatis one that's not going to help you in the long run. So what we try to do is let the arm stay,I've demonstrated this in a previous tutorial, stay low and almost like it's going undera fence. Try to reach up and under the fence. If you at least do that, you're depressingthe shoulder on this side, try to keep the trap out of it, and reachup and out. You can still bend a little bit
at the arm, but that is even a little bitof a cheat. I'm ok with it because you have to adapt byallowing for a little bit heavier weight if you do that because you're basically shorteningyour movement arm here, ok. But, if you're going to keep it straight outthen obviously now you've got more gravity here pushing down on your arm that way itbecomes essentially heavier, ok, so, that's 2 cheats in 1. Next is another area of the shoulder. It'sthe front delts, and we've done this before, too.
Best Home Workout For Men To Build Muscle Do This Anywhere To Get Jacked
Hey, what's going on guysé Troy here withWeightGainNetwork . I've got an awesome, fullbody, athome workout that you can doanywhere and all you need is a pullup bar. Now I know what you guys are thinking no,I do not live at the beach. I'm just at the beach, enjoying a beautiful day and obviouslyyou guys are going to see this workout, you can see that you can do it absolutely anywhere. So I thought it'd be cool to show you guys this cool, little pullup bar section we haveon Manhattan Beach, California and all you really need to do this entire workout is oneof those doorwide pullup bars. This is the onetwoblast. Almost every singlemuscle group in your entire body I'm going
to show you all the exercises in a row, butideally what you want to do is three sets of everything and you guys will be completelyfatigued. This is an incredible musclebuilding routine, so let me go right into it. So first up, I'm going to do these UnderhandClose Grip PullUps and what this is going to do is this is going to work our lats, ourbiceps, and also our upper and midback. Keep it slow and controlled. And that's how that looks. Now we're goingto go right into Diamond PushUps, so we're going to put our hands like this, we're goingto be working upper chest and our triceps.
And that's how that looks. Now we're goingright into Wide Grip Pullups one of the most challenging back exercises that's goingto hit our lats, hit our back as well our biceps. So I'm just going to put my handsabout as wide as I go. And that's how the wide grip pullups look. Now next, we are going to do what I call Maximum Time Under Tension PushUps. So what you'regoing to do is you're going to do a bunch of pushups in a row to complete muscle failure, and you want to keep the muscle under tension the entire time. So here's how it looks. So never do this keep it under tension theentire time like I'm doing right now.
And you guys get the idea. So that is goingto blast your entire chest. You're going to feel it in your arms everywhere. Next up,we got one of my favorite beach body exercises, and this is going to hit your biceps, alsoreally hit your abs. So what you're going to do is you're going to go on an underhandgrip, hold this position here, and you're going to bring your knees to your elbows. And that's how that looks. Last but not least, got to get our lower bodyinvolved, so we're going to do a good, oldfashioned wall sit. This is one of the most challenginglower body exercises that almost nobody does.
So what you're going to do here get downto about 90 degrees, and you're just going to hold this position. You're going to feelit in your hip flexors, your thighs, your hamstrings you're going to feel it all over. You got to control your breathing. And that's how that looks. That is a complete, fullbody, athome workout or atthebeach workout that you guys can do anywhere withjust a pullup bar.
Workout Plan for Skinny Guys Hardgainers THIS BUILDS MUSCLE
What's up, guysé Jeff Cavaliere, ATHLEANX . I'm talking to the skinny guys today. Nowdon't worry, it's going to be helpful for all, but I'm going to get inside the mindsof the skinny guys because I know what the hell you're thinking. I've been one and Iknow how to get you a lot bigger than you are right now because I know the things thatyou should be focusing on. Today I'm going to tell you exactly what tofocus on in your workouts if you don't want to be skinny anymore. The first thing I'mgoing to tell you to do – shocker – is get your ass to the gym. Now, it's not abouttelling you to start working out. You already
know that. You're probably already doing that.I'm saying get yourself to the gym. Face your fears. Remember I said I was goingto get in your headé I know what you're thinking. You're maybe a little nervous to go to thegym because you're afraid of the ridicule being the skinny guy. You look around, yousee all these guys lifting heavy weights, grunting, groaning, intimidating. You're sittingthere holding 20lb dumbbells in your hand thinking you're not going to measure up tothem. You know what, guysé Screw that and screwthem because anybody at the gym that would ridicule you for the weights that you're liftinghas no bearing on you. It doesn't even deserve
your concern because that's a dick. Nobodywho's been where you've been at – all of us have started somewhere and most guys inthe gym are going to respect your pursuit. They're going to respect the fact that you'rethere despite how thin you might be, doing what you need to do to change that. I cantell you that right away, that 99% of the guys that you maybe think are intimidatingare probably respecting the shit out of you because they know what you're been through. If they've been there themselves they know more than that. The idea is, make yourself accountable andface your fears. Unless you have to work out
at home for a particular reason then get there.I'm telling you, you're going to find more out of getting there because facing your fearsin just that one move of arriving at the gym is going to set the stage for everything else. Now, when you're there, the most important thing to do is simplify. Find one exercise per major muscle group tofocus on. What am I talking abouté Well, major muscle groups are your chest, your back, yourshoulders, your legs, and your arms – your biceps and triceps. Obviously your core isthrown in there as well, but we're not going to worry about that so much. We're tryingto build as much muscle as we can. So of those
six major muscle groups, pick one exercise. I'll give you a head start. I think you shouldfocus on a bench press. Not necessarily with dumbbells because you might not have the coordinationyet to handle the independent dumbbells, but use a bar. Do a bent over row for your back.Do a squat for your legs. If you can't do a squat because you've either got knee problems,or back problems, then maybe try a dead lift. I personally prefer dead lifts more than Iprefer squats for my particular case for my knees. Do an overhead press. Do a barbellcurl and do a lined tricep extension, okayé These are exercises that have two things incommon. One: they're compound. They usually
involve multiple joints. We want to starttrying to build your coordination on these movements and allow you to become stronger, allowing different muscles to work together. The second thing is, they allow you to eventuallyoverload. So let's just look at a case of the arms. A barbell curl is always going tobe the heaviest bicep exercises that you will ultimately be able to do. You're not goingto be able to do more on a concentration curl than you are in a barbell curl. So I wantyou to focus on those bigger exercises, okayé Now, how are we going to break them upé Iwant you to start by simplifying again. I know that people will probably tell youto start doing total body workouts because
